TRAILER REVIEWS OF AMAA NOMINATION LIST 2014

ACCIDENT
Accident is a feature film, with nominations in AMAA but I got very disappointed when I saw the trailer and discovered there was no story told. I guess the essence of trailers is to make the viewer have a basic understanding on what a film is about. But in this situation, I really can’t tell what this means. Initially, it caught my attention when I discovered the tweak in the title, but when I eventually saw the content, different thing went through my mind. From what I saw in the trailer, the film is sure going to be a very massive one. Beautiful colour grading, camera movement was quite good but I hope it help tell the story in the manner it should be told.

The Forgotten Kingdom
I will give this trailer a 9/10. It does have all it takes to make a good film. The trailer conveyed a beautiful story and in the long run gave me an insight on what the film is all about. From what I saw of the picture and the camera movement, shot composition, light design, angles, blockings, costumes props and many others, it dawn on me that this film will be a great chase for Nigerian Accident. Let’s see what the race holds for it. You can tell it’s a story of a young boy who returns home to his kingdom after many yrs….a film by Andrew Mudge.

Children of Troumaron
Beautiful story-line, great temple, Lighting quite amazing. I will give it an 8/10. Well can’t tell what the full story line is but from the trailer, I can easily tell it’s a film of young children, terrorizing a community.  The film deserves it because it has certain elements, that’ll make the film turn out a big one. The cam movement is interesting, the light design also great and beautiful composition. It’s sure a great match. Lets see what the future holds for it in the festival….as directed by Harrikrisna & Sharvan Anenden.

Of Good Report
The film seems good judging from its trailer. A story of love and what love obviously holds as well as the challenges. Love, dance and sex. Practically of a young man obsessed with sex. The quest for love was betrayed. From the picture is unique in black and white and despite that, the lighting in the film, still came out as though it was in colour. Very crispy. Beautiful shots and composition. Sure very pathetic. I guess it’s a great match. Directed by Jamil x. A  Qubeka. Lets keep an eye on it.

BEST DIRCTOR
The directors of the best film nomination, inclusive of Sherry Fripongs Potomanto all have great directing skills. As it stands at the moment, I guess there is going to be a very big thigh but someone will surely go home with the trophy.  Among nominees are Shirly Frimpongs, Teco Benson, Andre Nudge, Harikrishna and Sharvan Anenden, Jamil XT Quebeka.

POTOMANTO
An angry ex-police officer's mission to catch cheating women turns fatal when he stumbles into a diabolical plot of 'illegal organ harvesting' and the young hustlers who are lured into making deadly sacrifices for a chance abroad.

 BEST ACTOR in leading role
Apaye is the story of a Yepayeye, a woman who is an epitome of true love a woman whose motherly care for his children shows the pride of motherhood. Her grand mother was kidnapped at age 5, her mother died when she was five. She survived all the hurdles but didn’t survive an accident. A beautiful story. Very beautiful lighting, though little issues with compositions.

BROTHERS KEEPER
A young man is devastated by the sudden death of his twin brother. His behavior changes so dramatically that his wife begins to suspect that there is more to her husband's drastic change in attitude. The film which was nominated as the best actor in a leading role has a very interesting trailer that obviously will keep you glued or would make you hunger to see the real film. Great camera works, among many other elements.  It really tell a story that will make you want to see the film. The film is still at its peak. Directed by Ikechukwu Onyeka.

Murder at Prime suit
A murder story, being investigated by a detective. Yes the trailer is just there. Not very exceptional but it has a fill of a good storyline. But judging from the trailer, it might be difficult having something quite interesting. It’s a fair mark for me. It has a nomination in the best actor category.  As directed by Eneaji Chris Eneng

B for Boy

This is the worst trailer ever I have seen in my entire life. I can’t place it, not making any sense and does not have any grip. Infarct there is no story and judging by the film, you won’t want to find yourself watching it for any reason. But for its nomination in the category of the best actress, then you can be rest assured to have some good content in it. But for the trailer, it is a NO for me. I really think the person behind it should go back to the drawing board,
